The Power of the Right Positioning

How five artists transformed an event at Neocon into a must-see event.

Milliken is known for innovation in flooring. But a brand new product category was different. HybridForm represented the convergence of their entire technical expertise in flooring science. Crobar recognized immediately that this wasn’t a product that fit the standard launch playbook. This needed to be the headline.

We recommended making HybridForm the flagship launch at NeoCon. Not buried in the portfolio. Not treated as one of many. This was the moment that deserved center stage. We positioned it as a technological breakthrough with clean, modern, significant creative direction that commanded attention.

A competitive analysis of the flooring market revealed exactly where HybridForm sat against competitors and what gaps it filled. The product’s benefits organized into clear buckets: sustainability, usability, cleanability, recyclability. Targeted one-sheets for designers, facility managers and specifiers each linked specific product attributes to those market gaps. A lightbulb concept became the visual anchor across all materials, reinforcing the innovation at its core.

The imagery, copy and marketing strategy unified the NeoCon booth and carried across all launch materials, communicating the significance of the category. Foot traffic and attention at NeoCon increased 22% from the previous year. But the real story was in the leads: they went from 60 qualified leads the previous year to 980. Positioning HybridForm as the headliner gave an entirely new product category the spotlight it deserved. It wasn’t just a product launch. It was the introduction of something that changed the game.
